Phase I: Construction
The CTS building project was launched in response to a rapidly growing need for space, and adequate facilities for our growing student body. We have utilized the land we possess in Kohuwela to put up a modernized facility. The foundation stone for the building was laid, in faith, on 24 November 2005 by our President Dr. Ajith Fernando; and construction commenced in February 2006. The dedication of the facility was held on 23 July 2007. The plaque unveiled on this occasion reads:
This facility is testimony to the generosity of many
And is dedicated to the glory of God
With the commencement of the new term on 4 September 2007, the classrooms in the new facility have been a-buzz with lectures in progress. The faculty and admin personnel have also made the transition into the new workspaces, and the lending and reference libraries are in operation. The facility is truly a delight and a blessing.
As of 16 January 2008, the total outstanding funds were raised! This enabled us to honour the settlement of final payments to the civil work contractors. We have been overwhelmed by the various expressions of partnership received from friends of the ministry from inception to completion of the project. The Lord’s abundant provision has been made real through the generosity and support of many!
This facility will always be a reminder of the many people who contributed in such diverse ways – with finances, prayer, encouragement, physical labour, and a myriad of skills and talents. It is truly a symbol of partnership. Above all, it is a testimony of grace.
Phase II: Furniture and Equipment
As we thank and praise God for the completion of the construction phase of the new facility, we have now moved on to the furnishing and equipping of the various spaces within the facility. The total required for the completion of this phase is LKR 7.5 million. Click here for more details
